Clean It (Inside & Out)
- Getting in and out of your vehicle means it’s near impossible not to accumulate dirt, grime, and dust that’ll make your allergies worse over the course of the season. We recommend starting by wiping down your dashboard, seating, and vents as often as possible with a damp microfiber cloth and a solution with no irritants/ harsh chemicals. Next, vacuum your carpeting and be sure to clean and let your floor mats dry completely. Also, be sure to frequently stop by the car wash to clean off the exterior of your vehicle.
Contain It
- Oftentimes your clothing and shoes are the way allergens make their way into your vehicle. While we can’t avoid this completely, it’s a smart idea to remove the articles of clothing that have come in contact with those allergens if possible. Try storing them in a separate area and keep them confined. Using a plastic bin in your trunk can work great for this. Be sure to keep your windows closed during peak pollen times to keep allergens out. And go the extra mile to ensure that your weather stripping in intact and every window/ door shuts properly so allergens can’t creep in.
Replace It
- If you can’t remember the last time you changed your air filters, the perfect time is now. It’s also a good idea to have them checked at the end of the pollen season to ensure they are still in proper condition and that they have not deteriorated over the season. All-weather floor mats are a great way to cut back on the number of allergens that make your carpeting their home and consider investing in some good seat covers. Lastly, stay away from air fresheners or cleaners that have harsh chemicals that could cause nasal irritation.

The Penny Test:
- Insert a penny right into the tread groove with Lincoln’s head facing upside down in the tread facing toward you. Once the penny is inserted, if you can see the entire head, your tread depth is less than 2/32” and that means you need to replace your tires ASAP.
The Quarter Test:
- As we did before, place the quarter upside down into the tread groove with Washington’s head facing toward you. If the tread reaches Washington’s head, you have at least 4/32” of tread remaining, AKA your tires are still in good shape and there’s nothing to worry about!
Tread Wear Indicator
- If you don’t have any coins laying around, take a look at your tread wear indicator bar that is molded onto the tread of your tires. These bars are found at the bottom of the tread grooves in multiple spots. When these bars are visibly flush with the adjacent ribs, your tire has no more than 2/32” of tread left. This is a visible indication that you need new tires for your vehicle!

Join Us For The Opening Ceremony Of The February Empire State Winter Games! | Granville, NY
The 43rd Empire State Winter Games (ESWG) Torch Relay kicked off Sunday, Jan. 29 from two starting points, Buffalo and New York City, as the beginning of its five-day journey that culminates in Lake Placid for the Opening Ceremony of the Feb. 2-5 Games. As a presenting sponsor Zappone Chrysler Jeep Dodge joins dozens of communities to welcome the torch relay along the two routes that will merge in Lake Placid. The torch relay is expected to involve up to 30 communities, schools, sports clubs, mascots, arenas and other venues as the ESGW flame winds its way east and north. In connecting three corners of New York state, the relay symbolizes a unifying spirit, inspiration and resilience as the ESWG celebrates the power of sport and community. At some stops, the torch will be feted with parades and by local athletes and teams, dignitaries and special ceremonies.
Upon the torch’s arrival in Lake Placid Thursday, Feb. 2, the Opening Ceremony will take place and the competition begins the next day. The ESWG, the largest multi-sport amateur athletic winter sporting event in North America, is expected to draw around 2,000 athletes competing in more than 30 events in Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, Paul Smiths and the surrounding area.
