While summer is almost over, you still might have a little extra surprise for the kiddos. You might be hitting the road for a little last-minute summer fun. And if that’s the case, we have put together a few tips to ensure that this trip will be easier than ever before. Take a look at our list and if you have any tips of your own, reach out to our team so we can get them added to our list! But of course, before you hit the road, stop in to see our team to upgrade into a brand new CJDR this summer. And don’t forget to ask about our new specials to save big! We hope to see you soon!

Always pack light. While packing for children might seem like you need a lot of gear, only take the necessities. This will help keep clutter to a minimum and you won’t be stressed trying to manage a bunch of different bags when you’re packing and unpacking.

Keep snacks on deck. Like you, your children will get hungry during the trip, always keep snacks ready and accessible when needed. It’s also important to keep everyone hydrated but don’t overdo it. This will lead to a lot of unnecessary pit stops.

Keep the car ride simple. Pack games or coloring books to keep the kiddos entertained for the car ride. This will help keep you from going crazy when they ask ‘are we there yet’ for the millionth time! If your vehicle has entertainment systems, be sure to use them!

Take kid-friendly pit stops when on the road. Kids usually get a lot of built-up energy when in the car. So make enough stops to wear off that energy and places your kids can stay calm without stressful, rushed situations.

Research your destination. While you might not think this is important, it is. You’ll want to know if the places you’re planning to visit are kid-friendly and fun. Also, will you be needing a car seat or stroller? It’s important to know these things ahead of time.

Always leave extra time. This might be the best tip we have to give. Always always always give yourself extra time in case things go awry and you need to handle a stressful situation.
